Dear Lord,
Dear Lord,
Dear Lord,
I come before you- humbly and simply
No agendas, no particular requests
Without sob stories, lengthy confessions
Regret free and merely superficial burden
I have no wishes for granting
Or weighty questions to which I am too mortal to answer
There has been good and happiness
Disappointment, anger and mistrust
Failure and elation
Destruction as well as consideration
Long hair and displaced rebellion
A shaved head and compromised values
Unfinished books and letters, thoughts…thoughts
Savored meals and friendships
Prayers for myself, others and
Non-denominational victories
Kisses in light and dark
Jewelry, clothes, hats, shoes and laundry
So much dirt and innumerable stairs
Breaks and blood- loss before beginnings
Oh and the beauty
Filling my eyes, ears, nose, throat
All of the colors in every circumstance
Homes, stairs, doors and windows
Learning and sharing- guiding and correcting
Then only me and you Lord.
Amen.
