Envisioned Requiem

Envisioned Requiem

Two eyes make home
Below soiled brow
Behind chain-linked destiny.
A guess
To whom or what they stare
Would certainly be a
Guarantee of falsity.
For only the brain
That lay behind
Know the true
Destination of your eyes.
Two silent vagabonds
Linked in seek and search
Forced to roam a
Superficial earth by only
Their mortality.
But in a mourner’s mind-
Blackened and sorrowful-
A presence felt;
One of a watchful breed
As though the deceased looked
Down to you.
So the eyes live alive
In many a summer’s breeze,
And then upon death
Look down on loving memories.
